Savory Snack: Hot Kachri
Here’s a quick, delicious snack that you can serve to friends and family. Seema Gupta shows you how to make it.

- 1 cup canned garbanzo beans
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 inch piece of ginger
- 8-10 green chilli
- Salt to taste
- Pinch of asafetida
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tbsp garbanzo flour or besan
- 2 cups cooking oil
Coarsely grind garbanzo beans in a blender. Make a paste of green chillies and ginger.
Add onion, chili paste, garam masala, asafetida, chana flour and salt, mix well. Make 1-inch-diameter balls and deep fry.
Serve with green chutney or tomato ketchup.
