Siliconeer mourns the passing of Ali Akbar Khan, sarod maestro and arguably the greatest living Hindustani musician. A living encyclopedia of Hindustani music as well as a legendary musician, Khan helped establish a firm foothold of Hindustani music in California.

Lovers of Indian culture can best honor the great man’s decades of service by supporting his family’s project to archive three decades of his musical lessons and commentary and make it available to the general public. More information at www.aacm.org.
