LEISURE:
Flavors of India: Lufthansa's Tribute

In paying homage to the rich and flavorful Indian cuisine, Lufthansa is asking Indians to let the chef in them shine. A Siliconeer report.

German airline Lufthansa is dedicating the Fall 2010 promotion — “Flavors of India,” to the country’s vibrant food culture, according to a company press release.

“Indians all across the U.S. are invited to spice up this holiday season and win big with Lufthansa,” the release said. “In paying homage to the rich and flavorful Indian cuisine, Lufthansa is offering members of the Indian community the exclusive opportunity to let the chef in them shine — for their chance to win tickets to India, a luxurious package from The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts in India, an iPad, restaurant gift certificates, beautiful china and much more!”

This promotion is showcased at www.lufthansa.com/FlavorsOfIndia.

With a first, very simple, step — anybody can register and his/ her name will automatically be entered in the weekly raffle drawings to win prizes.

A step further is the race to win the grand prize. A person has to submit his/ her favorite Indian recipe and get all their friends and family to vote for that person. The participant whose recipe gets the most votes will win the Grand Prize — 2 round-trip Lufthansa economy class tickets to India and a luxurious 3-day package from the Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts, India. Recipe submission deadline is October 25 and that’s when voting begins. Even voters have a chance to win — an iPod speaker docking system, complete with alarm clock and CD player.

There’s more — if a submitted recipe is selected by Surender Mohan, Lufthansa Star Chef, The Leela, Mumbai — the person who submitted it could also win an Apple iPad.

“For those who enjoy indulgence in delicacies more than actual cooking, there is a chance to win every week — a $50 gift certificate to one of the many renowned Indian restaurants in the 17 Lufthansa U.S. gateways,” the release added.

“The excitement continues with still many more opportunities to win — not only is every registrant automatically entered into the weekly raffle drawings but they have an additional chance to win a round-trip Lufthansa economy class ticket to India. Simply share the excitement with friends and family and earn points as your loved ones register at the Lufthansa Flavors of India website — for your chance to win the Tell-A-Friend Sweepstakes.

“There is not a moment to lose ... celebrate the delightful Indian cuisine with Lufthansa and register today at www.lufthansa.com/FlavorsOfIndia for your chance to win big.”
